Facebook Movie The Social Network Takes in $23 Million in the First Weekend

The new Facebook movie, Social Network has topped the box office in US taking in $23 million in the first weekend. By comparison the new Michael Douglas movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps scored only $10.1 million. The Social Network is directed by Fight Club’s David Fincher and produced by Kevin Spacey. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin and the story is based on Ben Mezrich’s book Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal. Jesse Eisenberg stars as young Mark Zuckerberg alongside Justin Timberlake as Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster. The Social Network opens tomorrow with M-rating in Australia.
