Facebook vs. Pinterest: 5 Things We’ve Learned #infographic

This week I’m presenting an interesting Infographic from a global online jewellery site Boticca.com. They sell unique handmade jewellery from all over the world and provide their designers and customers peace of mind by upholding a solid e-commerce environment in which they are able to trade.

Recently the brand conducted an experiment using their well-maintained social media platforms Facebook and Pinterest. What they did was really simple as they just followed the actions of the consumers who were engaged with them socially. The study was carried out over a month earlier this year and to gauge a fair assumption from their findings Boticca.com had to facilitate a vast amount of users, 50,000 from each platform was about enough!

The outcome of their study was really interesting and is a lesson to all fashion and jewellery orientated sites worldwide in terms of what to do with their choice of social media!

Just to recap, here’s the most interesting results from that experiment:

1. Pinterest drives more sales than Facebook

2. Pinterest users are more cashed up and spend twice as much as Facebook users

3. It is easier to acquire more followers through Pinterest than Facebook

4. Facebook users are more engaged that Pinterest users

5. Facebook gives you better conversion than Pinterest
