Every brand needs its own Instagram landing page to sell goods online. Talking up your brand and running ads days and nights are no use if your customers can’t purchase your product. That’s why we will tell you how to create a simple website that can increase your sales.
Why you need a landing page on social media
After you tell users about your items or services, you also need to tell them how to get them. You can tell users to approach you in DM, but you’d rather give them a link for purchasing.
You can add only one active link to your Instagram account. You won’t have to choose what it will be — an item from your catalog, link for placing orders in WhatsApp or FB messenger — if you put a link to your landing page there. All these things can be placed together.
How to create a page for your Instagram account
So, where can you get an empty page to place the text and pictures? If you never studied programming, we recommend using a website builder. Because a landing page is a regular website, which has only one page.
Website builders work the same way. The order of steps may alter, though. Therefore, having taken a grasp of one, you quickly learn to use any.
We will give an example with Taplink. It has every tool you may need to create a selling landing. Button for navigating to other pages, messaging apps or social media profiles, pictures, music, maps — your website will never look empty. Forms for taking customers’ contacts and payment systems that allow users to pay without leaving the page are also on the list. Because a landing page has no point without them.
You won’t have to think hard how to arrange these elements and what colors to choose because Taplink has ready templates. They were designed exactly for online sales.
No matter how many pictures and elements you add, you can rest assured that your landing page will load on users’ smartphones instantly. Because this is a mobile-first service, just like Instagram.
Choose a template for your landing page
First, you need to sign up. After that, you will see templates. Here are both landing pages with all necessary tools for online business and simple pages with three links of link-in-bio type.
Here you need to choose a template:
- Tap a template.
- Tap Choose.
If a unique design is your priority, and you have your perfect idea of the page, you can create a website for Instagram from scratch. In this case, you need to tap Empty template.
Edit your landing page
After choosing a template, you need to edit it so that it becomes relevant to your brand. You can also add new elements and delete those you don’t need.
Every element corresponds to a block.
For adding:
- Tap Add block.
- Choose a block.
- Fill the fields.
- Tap Save changes.
For editing:
- Tap a block.
- Change the information or media.
- Tap Save changes.
For deleting:
- Tap a block.
- Tap Action.
- Choose Delete.
- Choose Delete again.
For moving:
Tap a gray rectangle. Hold it and move to the right place, then release.
Publish your Instagram landing page on the web
Now you can publish your landing page. Tap the arrow at the top to do this.
Choose a web address. Since we are creating a landing for Instagram, let’s go with the second option. Link your IG account, the unique part of the link will be your username.
- Mark the option in the circle.
- Tap Connect with Instagram.
- Enter your IG username in the field.
- Tap Ok.
Don’t forget to put the link to your Instagram bio.
Here is how you know you’ve made a good Instagram landing page
Don’t go too deep with editing templates. They are made by designers and marketers. This means they are created by specialists who know how to make a beautiful picture and how to convert a visitor into a customer.
No doubt, you, as a businessman or a blogger, know about beauty and profit a lot too. That’s why we just leave here a short memo in case you are going to delete and add elements.
Here is what you should add to your page:
- Items on offer. Then the link in your bio will always be relevant for any item you promote. Imagine, in today’s post you tell users about one product, in tomorrow’s, you will tell them about another one. In both cases you suggest users go and buy it following your link in bio. Whatever product a user is interested in, they will find what they want.
- Links for dialogues in messaging apps and other social media profiles. Then, users will be able to contact you in one click to make an order in the app they are used to.
- Forms for an email or the phone number. Interested users will leave their contacts, and you can contact them when you have time.
- Payments. Add them, and a user will be able to pay for their order without your involvement.
Elements arrangement and design are also important things to consider. Make sure, your page:
- Is readable. Divide your page into parts using paragraph spacing and contrast background colors.
- Includes media files. They make your page more vibrant and help to divide your text into parts.
- Directs users to the next step. A user should get a clear understanding of what to do next after reading your page. That’s why you need to add a call to action. For example, offer to buy a product and give a link to a WhatsApp dialogue.
An example of a good Instagram landing page
Let’s look at an example. We will show you how the templates may look and what to strive for if you create the page from scratch.
This Macarons shop set an image as the background. At the beginning of the page, there is the name and the main advantage.
An image carousel with some good offers placed under it. Each offer has a link to get it quickly. Next, the shop added messaging apps buttons and clarify one can order macarons by them.
Scrolling next, a user will see several more shop’s features. There is an email form under it. A user can get a discount after filling the form. The shop, on the other hand, will get a contact to get through to a customer.
After telling users all the benefits they get if they choose this shop, they offer to read reviews of people who have already tried their desserts. The reviews should persuade a visitor he or she can trust the shop.
Next, there is a map with addresses, where customers can come. There is also a FAQ section, most of the users will find all the information they need here.
At the end of the page, the shop placed contacts and links to its socials. If a user still has questions, they can ask them.
