Let me explain.

Last week I read an article by Nick Carter how artificial intelligence can be used to create new and unique articles. Mr. Carter is executive director at Menzies Research Centre, an Australian public policy think tank.

I decided to test his findings and used a chat bot called Chat GPT to create this article. Chat GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) is a chat bot launched by Open AI two months ago in November 2022. This is how our session started:

So, the only thing I created myself was the headline: “How To Use AI In Social Media Marketing?” I punched it in to the chat box and started chatting with the AI. Once the first results came in I continued with 5 follow up questions (the sub headlines of this post). The whole process took me about 10 minutes. The end result was the 874 word article you have just read.

…and that’s it! This should not have been that easy!

Before publishing this piece I tested the AI genetrated text for plagiarism with Duplichecker, and it came out as 95% unique! I did not expect such a high level of uniqueness.

I also checked the grammar in Grammarly and the article received a score of 90 out of 100. This is also a surprisingly good result! Grammarly found only 4 debatable spelling errors, which I did not correct. The only negative to me was quite a low Flesch reading-ease test score of only 36.

In my opinion the article is actually quite decent. It does seem to follow a certain academic, and a bit boring pattern of intros, bullet poins and outros; but the information seems to be to the point, and frankly, quite helpful.

There is noticeable repetition in all of the the sub topics, such as “xxx refers to…” which could cause suspicion that the article was not created by a real blogger.

Nevertheless, I think an average reader would not be able to tell whether this piece was written by a human author or an AI robot; and that is actually a very scary notion!

While on the artifial topic, the main image’s background was also created by AI. I entered the title of the article into a box at DeepAI, chose the layout and just clicked the Generate -button. It seems that we don’t have to do anything by ourselves anymore! Just let the AIs do the heavy lifting.
