Have you ever seen an Instagram account that gets so many followers each day? They get so many people interacting and commenting on each photo? They even get people clicking on the link in their bio and heading to their website? It can feel frustrating getting started on Instagram with a new algorithm changing regularly. That is why the professionals are here to explain how to get more engagement on Instagram. Keep reading to learn more.
1. Be Consistent
The number one thing that you can be doing is to stay consistent. Many companies get excited about social media and start posting five times that week. The next week they post four and the following week they post once.
Try and stay consistent. Get in a habit of posted and start with one or two per week. It doesn’t need to start with a lot of posts, you just need to start and stay consistent with it. Once you have posted a couple times per week and have been consistent for a couple months, you can increase the amount you are posting.
Another way you can be more consistent is to schedule your posts on a third-party scheduler. This way you can schedule them all at once for the month and you don’t need to worry about it. With that said, it’s important to still be present online and not just post and not look at Instagram. There are several third-party schedulers. Some of them include Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
2. Brand Your Photos
The next recommendation we have is to ensure each of your photos are branded. Whether this is with your logo, your website, or your Instagram handle, make sure they have this one each and every one. This will not only help with branding and consistency, but can you imagine if your picture went viral and it wasn’t on the photo?
3. Have Minimal Text On Photos
It’s hard to make an image look visually appealing if it has a lot of text on it. That is why our next tip is to not have a lot of text on each photo.
It’s great to include a quick item or a quote but try and make it as visual and eye-catching as possible.
4. Stay Engaged
Just like we said, make sure you don’t just post and walk away. If someone comments on your image, reply. If you get a message, make sure you reply to it too. You can always comment on other photos too. Just make sure your comments are unique.
5. Have A Content Calendar
If you can create a content calendar for the month or even for 90 days, it will give you a better picture of what your goals are and what your Instagram will look like. This will also give you time to create multiple images and not fall behind.
6. Instagram For Increased SEO
Tag and mention your web site in your posts. This could be free traffic to your site and boost SEO.
Don’t be afraid to link to other social sites as well or even other Blogs that have mentioned you or link to your web site.
Instagram is the fastest growing social media portal so take full advantage of this to boost all of your business properties with outgoing links.
As you can see, it may be easier than you think. Keep posting on a regular basis and make sure you go on and make yourself present regularly. For more tips on Instagram or social media in general, contact us today.
